This horror comedy pictures the tale of a grade school where a virus transforms the students into raving, ferocious cannibals. The improbable hero is a substitute teacher (Elijah Wood) and would be professional writer. He is challenged on his first day at the elementary school with stepping up and leading the remaining teachers against the cannibal children.

Cary Murnion and Jonathan Miolett are the directors. The story was written by Ian Brennan and Leigh Whannell. The film was produced by Glacier films and Spectrevision. Distribution in the U.S.A. is by Lionsgate and Universal in the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Germany.

Cooties debued at the Sundance Film Festival this year on January the 18th.
