Video Games: Art or Not Art?

Art is sometimes said to be an I like it or I don't like it thing? People say they don't know if it's great art, but they like it or what's that in response to an abstract piece.

With this in mind consider video games. The question of whether or not the worlds created for video games are art or just games has been around for a while. It is certainly not conventional art. But is art in the eyes of the beholder? What do you think?
